Nevada Housing Division (NHD) yesterday announced it was awarded $229,171.50 from NeighborWorks America
to support foreclosure prevention counseling efforts throughout Nevada.
The much-needed funding from the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling
Program will enable housing counseling agencies located statewide to provide
more foreclosure counseling to area homeowners in danger of foreclosure.
grant funds were awarded to allow NHD to continue to meet the demand for
mortgage delinquency and foreclosure prevention counseling sessions. While the pace of home foreclosure has
lessened nationally, many Nevada homeowners continue to face serious mortgage delinquency

at the Housing Division worked tirelessly to ensure foreclosure prevention
dollars were awarded to the State. The Housing Division has a duty to
ensure housing assistance and counseling is offered to households still
suffering in this economy. We will continue to support agencies in their
efforts in helping families remain in their homes, or assisting in making their
transition to a new home as effortless as possible.”
