Steve George Named Division of Industrial Relations Administrator

Carson City, NV - November 03, 2014

Department of Business and Industry Director Bruce Breslow today announced that Steve George has been appointed as administrator of the Division of Industrial Relations.  George was appointed to fill the vacancy after previous administrator Don Soderberg was named Director of the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation in October. 

 

George has 16 years’ experience in state government during which time he has worked for four constitutional officers- Attorney General, Governor, Secretary of State and State Treasurer. Most recently, he served five years as the Chief of Staff at the Treasurer’s Office where his duties included supervision of the various divisions and programs, managing budget and personnel, serving as a liaison with legislators and government officials and the public, and managing special projects. 

 

He has also authored and/or revised two books relating to the history of Nevada: the 11th edition of the Political History of Nevada, published by the Secretary of State’s office; and Moving Nevada into the 21st Century: Governor Kenny C. Guinn, the history of the former governor’s term in office, which he completed while serving as Governor Guinn’s Director of Communications.
