Business Pitch Competition finalists have been selected to pitch their
company’s product or service to a panel of judges at the fifth annual
Governor’s Conference on Business in Las Vegas September 30. Each of the finalists will have two minutes
to make their pitch, followed by a three minute Q&A session with the
judges.
After
the judges’ scorecards are tallied and the audience casts a vote for their
favorite pitch, the first and second place, and people’s choice winners will be
announced at the conference luncheon. The winning competitors will take home awards
from a pool of cash and services totaling $23,500 thanks to the generosity of
pitch competition sponsors AT&T, Microsoft and Vast: Powered by the CFO
Group.
The
finalists that were selected to compete at the Business Pitch Competition at
the Governor’s Conference on Business include:
Northern Nevada

Southern Nevada

Focus (Las Vegas)- alternative licensing
for commercial motor vehicle operators
- Chefery
LLC (Henderson)- home and office deliver of fresh,
high quality meals

Nano Inc. (North Las Vegas)- proprietary
transceiver chips for wireless systems and services
- Frameless
LLC (Las Vegas)- frameless system for easily hanging
stuff on your walls
- Healthybyte
LLC (Henderson)- digital health and education
services to low-income areas
- LRT
Sunshield Sunscreen 3000 LLC (Las Vegas)- an
automated front windshield sunscreen
- Remmedy
(North Las Vegas)- reinventing the everyday water
bottle
- thinkLaw
(Las Vegas)- educational program that helps
educators teach critical thinking
- Valley
Communications Association, Inc. (Pahrump)- broadband
service for rural Nevada
Three
alternates were also selected in the event that one of the finalist is unable
to compete: Lip Smacking Foodie Tours, Las Vegas; Five Star Economy, LLC, Las
Vegas; and Happy Monkey Baby Company, Las Vegas.
All
qualified applications entered into the competition were evaluated by an
independent panel of five judges who narrowed the field to the top ten applications.
The same judges’ panel will convene to evaluate the live pitches. Judges for
the event include: Tom Doxey, Vice
President of Fleet and Corporate Finance, Allegiant; Mark Hutchison, Lieutenant Governor, State of
Nevada; Kimberly Parker, Vice President of Advertising, Las Vegas Review
Journal; David Schmall, Business Sales Specialist, Microsoft; Stephanie Tyler,
Nevada and Western Region President, AT&T. Dana Wagner, News 3 Anchor will
moderate the competition.
Admission
to the Business Pitch Competition is included with a ticket to the Governor’s
Conference on Business 2016. The conference takes place at the Rio Hotel and Casino
from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm. and is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased online for $50 prior
