Business and Industry will host the seventh annual Governor’s Conference on
Business October 18 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The event will feature a Business Resource Expo, five interactive breakout
sessions, and an all-conference luncheon. The conference assists entrepreneurs,
startups and established companies get connected to the information and
resources they need to start or grow a business in Nevada.
The
Business Resource Expo will be open to attendees throughout the morning.
Exhibitors represent a wide variety of services and resources including
lenders, nonprofit business mentoring, legal services, marketing and branding
consultants, government agencies and more. Registered attendees can visit
the Microsoft booth for a free professional headshot. A list of participating
exhibitors can be found on the conference website. Exhibitor
opportunities are still available for companies looking to establish new
leads and make connections will fellow business owners and entrepreneurs.
Morning breakout sessions
include a three-part
workshop series on the Road Map to Start or Grow Your Business in Nevada,
which will provide a step-by-step approach to navigating the resources
available to assist businesses in all phases. A panel featuring entrepreneurs
that have participated in the Governor’s Conference Business Pitch Competition
will provide invaluable information during Startup Insights
from Past Pitch Competition Participants. Urban Mobility and
Smart Technology: On the Forefront will bring together industry leaders
like Tina Quigley from RTC, Greg Belaus from AT&T, and Brett Kanda from the
Nevada Institute for Autonomous Systems to address Nevada’s investment in
autonomous mobility and smart cities and what it means for the future of our
state.
The conference culminates
with an all-conference luncheon program. Mark Shunock,
creator of Mondays Dark and In-Arena Host for the Vegas Golden Knights, will
serve as the program’s master of ceremonies. Conference speakers will
include C.J.
Manthe, Director of the Department of Business and Industry, and Joseph Okpaku,
Vice President of Public Policy at Lyft, an on-demand transportation
company. The luncheon and day’s events will conclude with a keynote
address by Governor
Brian Sandoval.
