Carson City, NV -
November 04, 2016The Nevada Division of Insurance
is excited to announce the launch of its new Medicare Supplement Rate Lookup
Tool available on its website at http://doi.nv.gov/Health_Insurance_Rates/Medicare_Supplement_Rates/
Medicare Open Enrollment began
October 15, 2016 ends on December 7, 2016. During this time, consumers on Medicare
are able to change their Medicare health plans and prescription drug coverage.
The Division encourages Medicare
consumers to review their Medicare options because these coverage options and
costs change annually. To help Medicare consumers compare their options, the
Division created the Medicare Supplement Rate Lookup Tool.
The rates on this tool are for
all ages and zip codes in Nevada. Once a consumer has input their information
on the tool, the plans available based on this information will be displayed.
While the rates displayed are sample rates, they are intended to give an idea
of what a Medicare Supplement Insurance policy may cost based on the criteria
input. The actual premium rate each company charges is based on a number of
different factors including; age, location, the benefit plan selected,
underwriting status, etc.
To access this tool visit doi.nv.gov, click on the “Health Insurance
Rates” tab on the homepage, then click on the “Medicare Supplement Rates” tab
on the left hand side.
In addition to the Medicare
Supplement Rate Lookup Tool, the Division also publishes a Medicare Supplement
Guide online at http://doi.nv.gov/News-Notices/Publications/.
