Las Vegas, NV December 23, 2024
Senate Bill 82 of the 2023 Nevada Legislature added an annual reporting requirement for the Apprentice Utilization Act (AUA) (NRS 338.1165). All contractors who worked on public works projects in the State of Nevada during 2024 need to report the hours they employed apprentices for those projects.
The Office of the Nevada Labor Commissioner upgraded and customized its case management software to make AUA reporting as simple and straightforward as possible in accordance with Senate Bill 82.
The AUA reporting portal will be available January 1, 2025 until February 15, 2025 at 11:59 pm and accessible through the Labor Commission's website at labor.nv.gov under the AUA tab. A demonstration of the AUA reporting portal and instructions can be found under the AUA tab.
Contractors should keep several important facts in mind when reporting:
- All data for all contractors will be reviewed. The information must be within AUA reporting requirements. For example, include all crafts in one submission and upload files for "supporting documentation" onli if you are short on apprentice hours.
For more information or questions about AUA reporting, contact aua@labor.nv.gov or at 702-486-2650.
The Office of the Labor Commissioner is continuing to monitor proposed legislation during the 2025 session that may change apprentice utilization and public works projects.
