Governor’s Conference on Small Business 2014 to feature comprehensive resources, highlight opportunities for small business

Las Vegas, NV - September 15, 2014

From entrepreneurs looking to launch a company, to existing businesses looking to grow, the Governor’s Conference on Small Business 2014 will deliver the resources and information they need to succeed.  The 3rd annual conference will take place Friday, September 19 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino Convention Center in the Pavilion Ballroom. 

 

Conference attendees can participate in one or more of six concurrent panel discussions during three morning sessions, visit booths of more than 100 organizations and service providers, and network with other conference participants.  The conference will culminate at a luncheon featuring a keynote address by Governor Brian Sandoval.

 

This year’s conference will also highlight the development of the commercial drone industry in Nevada. A variety of drones will be on display and luncheon guests will hear from special guest speakers about the state's efforts to bring this growing industry to Nevada and what it means for small business.  Drone demonstrations throughout the event will give attendees a closer look at the emerging sector.

 

Conference highlights:

  ·         Panel discussion topics include: Small Business Owner Peer Panel, The Margins Tax/ Education Initiative, Online Strategies to Grow Your Business, Affordable Care Act, Educating Tomorrow’s Workforce, Exploring Nontraditional Financing Opportunities

·         The Business Resource Expo features 100+ exhibitors representing nonprofit business assistance organizations, government agencies, licensing departments, development authorities and B2B companies.

·         An on-site loan pavilion for one-on-one small business loan consultations at the Business Resource Expo (please call 702-734-3555 to pre-schedule an appointment and discuss documentation requirements to bring with you).

·         Guest speakers Director Steve Hill, Governor’s Office of Economic Development and Dr. Kenneth Witcher, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will speak about the state’s efforts to attract the commercial drone industry and the opportunities for small business.

·         Governor Sandoval will deliver the keynote address to conclude the conference.

 

Registration opens at 7:30 am and light breakfast snacks will be provided.  Tickets are $50 in advance, $60 at the door. Advanced registration is strongly recommended to ensure guaranteed seating and includes access to the expo, panel discussions and conference luncheon.  Advanced registration is available online through September 16th.
