September 19, 2018The Nevada Division of Insurance (Division) has received
fully-insured Association Health Plan (AHP) filings for the Reno Sparks
Northern Nevada’s Chamber of Commerce and the Las Vegas
Metro Chamber of Commerce.
These AHPs are the second and third filings the Division has
received. They are designed for interested Nevada small businesses and will
become effective during the month of October; consumers may visit the
Division’s website for the exact effective dates.
While the AHPs for Henderson, Boulder City, Latin and Reno
Sparks are available for members in certain counties; the Las Vegas Metro AHP
is available for members state-wide.
All these filings have been posted on the Division’s
website. The Division will continue posting information on any additional AHPs
submitted to the Division on its website for interested consumers to review.
Consumers are encouraged to review these filings because unless an AHP is on
the website under “Small
Employer Options” at http://doi.nv.gov/Health_Insurance_Rates/Small_Employer_Options/,
it may not be an authorized product reviewed by the Division.
The products marketed by a health insurance carrier through
an AHP are subject to all state and federal requirements applicable to large
employer health plans.
