March 07, 2014The consumer protection efforts of the Nevada Division of Insurance resulted in the recovery of $3,831,959 from insurance companies to Nevada Consumers in 2013.
A recovery is
the amount of monetary compensation or relief received by a consumer as a
result of a filed consumer complaint against an insurance company.
“I’m
proud of the great work our Consumer Services and Enforcement section have
done,” said Insurance Commissioner Scott J. Kipper.
“Their hard work and dedication has ensured that thousands of Nevadans get the
insurance benefits they’ve paid for. If you’ve got questions or concerns about

“Consumer
officers and investigators maintain expertise in all lines of insurance in
order to help Nevada consumers,” said Deputy Commissioner Joe Decker. “In
addition to resolving complaints, Consumer Services and Enforcement meets with
consumer groups, industry associations, and helps educate insurance consumers,
while maintaining a fair marketplace for all Nevadans.”
