Carson City, NV -
April 08, 2014The
Nevada Division of Insurance (Division) will be hosting a series of Network
Adequacy Listening Sessions. The purpose of these listening sessions will be to
solicit informal feedback from the public, provider communities and insurance
providers as to their informal concerns regarding Network Adequacy for health
plans and policies being sold in Nevada.
“The
issues surrounding network adequacy are complex and will impact consumers in
Nevada significantly as the Division develops a regulatory framework,” said
Insurance Commissioner Scott J. Kipper. “We believe it’s important to hear from
all Nevadans, be they consumers, doctors, hospitals or insurers in these
informal meetings.”
Topics
discussed will include network adequacy for HMO and non-HMO plans; special
considerations for rural community networks; and so called “narrow” networks.
For
more information about the topics to be discussed please visit http://doi.nv.gov/uploadedFiles/doinvgov/_public-documents/News-Notices/Regulations/Issue-Brief-on-Network-Adequacy.pdf.
Following
the informal feedback received during these informational sessions, formal
regulation workshops and hearings will be held.
Please
join us as we seek feedback on this important issue to Nevadans. Events will be
held throughout the state, please see the attached notices for additional
information. Sessions will be held at the following locations, sessions in Reno
and Elko are pending, please check the Division of Insurance website at
