Division of Insurance receives additional Association Health Plan Filings for several Chambers of Commerce in Nevada

Carson City, NV - September 19, 2018

The Nevada Division of Insurance (Division) has received fully-insured Association Health Plan (AHP) filings for the Reno Sparks Northern Nevada’s Chamber of Commerce and the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce.

These AHPs are the second and third filings the Division has received. They are designed for interested Nevada small businesses and will become effective during the month of October; consumers may visit the Division’s website for the exact effective dates.

While the AHPs for Henderson, Boulder City, Latin and Reno Sparks are available for members in certain counties; the Las Vegas Metro AHP is available for members state-wide.

All these filings have been posted on the Division’s website. The Division will continue posting information on any additional AHPs submitted to the Division on its website for interested consumers to review. Consumers are encouraged to review these filings because unless an AHP is on the website under “Small Employer Options” at http://doi.nv.gov/Health_Insurance_Rates/Small_Employer_Options/, it may not be an authorized product reviewed by the Division.

The products marketed by a health insurance carrier through an AHP are subject to all state and federal requirements applicable to large employer health plans.
